CGE were proud to provide engineering design to the £8M refurbishment of Edinburgh House. This project was completed in 2019 and was nominated for two BCO awards in 2020. The project consisted of the extensive refurbishment of an existing post tensioned concrete 1990’s office building with an additional storey added on top. Relocation of the existing internal stability cores within floor plates containing high magnitude stored pre-stressing forces were required. Additionally, the project involved an extensive refit of the external facades with a modern glazed system, construction of a new storey of office space at roof level, relocation of existing building stability cores to provide an improved floor plate arrangement and construction of new stability lift core walls. The development provides high specification Grade A office space across 8 floors.
