The project in Glenrothes for Yes Recycling was designed to provide a state-of-the-art plastic recycling facility. The project consisted of the following Engineering scope elements:

  • Structural back-analysis of existing reinforced concrete ground floor slab to establish capacity in supporting new spread, line and concentrated loadings.
  • Installation of new channel drainage systems to serve the water treatment plant.  This will include and formation of new trenches.
  • Design and detailing associated with installation of a new 3metre diameter x 3.5metre deep concrete sump.  Review and back-analysis in respect of potential remedial works required to adjacent building foundations.
  • Installation of new external plant area, including formation of new reinforced concrete base, retaining walls. Review and back-analysis in respect of potential remedial works required to adjacent building foundations.
  • Back analysis of existing portal frames to units 1 and 2 to establish available loading capacity for support of new roof mounted services.  This exercised would also assist in informing potential for replacement roof sheeting/over-sheeting.
  • Installation of new roller shutter doors, including new framing to support runners and roller mechanisms.
