One-storey House Extension, Blackhall, Edinburgh 

Christie Gillespie provided engineering consultancy for this project which involved a one-storey house extension, Blackhall, Edinburgh.

Large single storey split level extension engineered to provide an open plan bright living space connecting the house with the garden. The structural form was required to be unobtrusive but working with the architect’s geometry to provide a vertical section in the roof for a clerestorey window at high level to enhance the light  capture. The project also included extending the existing attic roof space with large dormers front and rear to provide additional bedrooms
